Green Pastures

Jean & I spent a week camping in Watkins Glen State Park in New York (Oct 10-17). Every day was sunshine and clear skies (with the ocassional cloud as shown here). While Buffalo was being covered by 2' of snow, we experienced blue skies. The only day it rained was our driving home day, Oct 17.
The area is stunningly beautiful. Our new found sport of geocaching took us out each day and brought us to new hiking and exploring adventures.

Canada

We viewed the First Peoples Hall and The Canada Hall; both were excellent. The Grand Hall is shown here. Posted by Picasa

Thursday's Adventure

Today we went to the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau (Hull), Quebec. On the other side of the river you can see the Canadian Parliament Buildings in Ottawa. We had gone to see the Petra Exhibit, but since no photographs were allowed, you'll have to settle for the "Bee" pictures and other shots taken during the day. The bees were busy in the flower bed by the entrance to the museum. Posted by Picasa

Fabulous Pictures

Once in awhile I run across some fabulous pictures taken by others. I came across a series of extreme storm shots that I think are just amazing. I'd love to go on a "storm chaser" expedition.

I'm recalling that as a young boy of around 12, how exciting it was when powerful thunder and lightning storms came over our house. Once, before it started raining, I ran through the back field toward the big tree where I had built a tree fort. I felt scared and exhilarated running across the field. As the wind picked up, with thunder and lighning cracking the air, I felt very small in the face of such power. It gave me a sense of how all powerfull God must be.
