We're saying goodbye to Tillsonburg, and Hello to Caledonia, Ontario.

That will put us very close to my dad, brother & family, my Uncle, and Jean's sister & family.
It also means begin able to call this house in Caledonia, Home, hopefully for good, long while. Finally, I'll have my study back, and all my books back on shelves (they've been in boxes in the garage for last while and at 1247 before that) -- I've not had access to them for close to 4 years.

There'll also be some changes for us. I'll not have work this summer, and we'll see what comes up for September.  It will be the first time (since being a young gaffer), that I'll not have work. But I'm welcoming the sabbath.  I really do need a rest.

The move to 38 actually takes place next week sometime.

The Mighty Avro Lancaster

Providentially (i.e., not by our own smart planning), we were at the end of the runway at the Hamilton International Airport, Sept. 9, 2013, and there was the Lancaster.  Sorry about the shaky stuff -- the fence was high and covered with vines -- I had to hold the camera above my head to catch the scene -- sorry, but that's the way it is.  Next time I'm bringing a step ladder!!

New Camera

OK, so I have a new camera. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200.
You'll have to check the reviews and descriptions elsewhere.

I had thought about getting camera with a larger sensor, a DSLR, or a mirrorless (MILC), micro four thirds, but anything decent is around $1000 or more.

This particular plant (Clivia), has a long history. The family legend has it that mom DeVries brought it from the Netherlands to Canada. The clump has been divided many times, and that's how Jean got a plant.  That plant was sold at a fund raising plant sale at Westside Fellowship, but Jean divided it again before it was sold and that's how this particular plant has stayed with her and now in her garden.
