"Dream Home Series" Grimsby, Ontario

I took this picture for obvious reasons -- the house has it all, and to me it was stunning, and surely ranks near the top of my Dream Home Series (taken with my trusty little SD-110 - 3.2mp)

MAPLEHURST, 354 MAIN STREET WEST
With a mix of Italianate, Queen Anne and Romanesque Revival styles, this beautiful Victorian home has everything – 2 storey bay, gables, porches, verandah and even a tower! It was built C.1880 by Linus Woolverton a fruit farmer since 1798. In addition to growing fruit, Linus was editor of The Canadian Horticulturist, secretary of the Ontario Fruit Growers Association, and Inspector of Experimental Stations. Maplehurst was one of these stations.

Inherited SnowBlower

I've been very thankful that I inherited this fabulous snowblower from my father-in-law. And with a few neighbours who don't have one, I've been able to help out.

Off-Roading: "Follow the Big Rig"

With a couple of snow storms every month, more and more people are trying out this new sport.

Battle Short Concentration

Micah has this amazing ability to engage in extreme concentration. Every part of his being and body gets involved.

Sad Faces - Life Trophies

Both Elizabeth and Micah got black eyes around the same time in different situations.

Face Testing

Every now and then a person has to do a check of how his face is working.

Take a Close Look

Jean and I went to Pittsfield, MA, last week. On the way we went through part of Albany, NY, and there I noticed this house. What caught my eye was the brick work.

What's Going On?

It's hard to believe that I haven't posted a thing here since December '07.
What's it going to take?

"Early Day Present"

In our family it's not possible to wait until the appointed present opening time. So we've adopted the "Early Day Present" practice.

Here Aaron and Micah are enjoying a massive crane on Dec 22!!

I'm not sure who enjoyed the crane more, Micah or Aaron his dad.
On those cold, wintry days, a cat just has to find a nice, snuggly warm spot.

A Real Star

A nice moment during Micah's Christmas program at the Kingston Christian School. Yes, Virginia, there really is a Saviour, He is Christ the Lord.

Fall Vacation in Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park: here are just a few shots of the various falls and sites.

To properly explore this area, you'll need a week or more.

We spent a week there with John and Grace M. in mid-October.

What's this now?

If you check Aaron's blog you'll see the photo that Meghan took. I'm just taking her taking the shot.

It's a bit of a walk from parking lot to beach. But with Micah and Elizabeth labouring with the cooler, Oma carrying something and Aaron bravely leading the way, we manage.
