Makers' Market at the Christ's Church Cathedral, Hamilton, Ontario

Christ's Church Cathedral      Makers’ Market was started by Cathedral volunteers as a way of providing local artisans with space and opportunity to market their craft. This church knows who they are and why they are here: they are a "place of community, compassion and hope", and the are "Praising God in heart of the city".

Beside the beauty of the place, it's a beautiful thing that the church shoved aside its pews to make room for the Makers' market.

The Best Grandchildren in the World

People like doing this sort of stuff these days -  I'm getting old!

Jean's Flowers (Indoor)

It's called a "Christmas Cactus" because it tends to bloom around Christmas time.  Jean has it blooming at many points in the year.  This photo was taken near the beginning of November. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlumbergera  And just in case: http://www.wikihow.com/Care-for-a-Christmas-Cactus

Intentional and Geared-Up
On our morning walk (usually along the Grand River), saw this guy fishing.
Do you think he'll catch fish?  Of course he will. If I sit on the shore watching him, will I catch any fish? Of course not.
So I thought about the church;  if the church is as intentional and geared up to catch people, to 'fish for people' as Jesus said (Mark 1:16-17) ... well, you see the point.
And yet churches sit and wait, and are bewildered why they're not 'catching' anyone.

Jason Can Relax Anywhere, Anytime

Jason demonstrates the art of relaxing at any moment, at any time.

Visser Reunion Part Two: with Jason and Rowan

It always gets to be a bit weird when we get together. I took about a dozen photos -- this was the most serious.
Crazy, but wonderfully fun.

It's Grand Living so Close to the Grand River

We live a mere block from the Grand. It's wonderful. My dad and I will do some fishing there, soon. We agreed that upon my retirement, we'd go to the Grand and fish. Well, I've moved close to the Grand, and I'm very close to retirement -- just a bit over a year.

The Advantage of a Reunion

The thing was that our eve-troughs were clogged. I had bought a 21 foot ladder, but it was  Dylan Visser who had the youthful guts and fearlessness to "just get up there" and do the job. I remember being young once! Yup, there was a time when I would have easily climbed that ladder and impressed the young ladies.  But this one goes to Dylan.

What We Really Enjoy

The Best part is when many people are over having a good time.

Visser Family Reunion Part One 2014

It's a rare event when we can get this many Vissers together (and behaving).  This is part one. Part Two is a month later when Jason and Rowan visit Caledonia.

My Study at 38

It's been four years since I had access to my books.  Most of them, and the book shelves, were stored either at 1247 or, for the last year in 8, in the garage.  Now, finally, I have all my shelves and books and I can begin to rebuild my study. I have a wonderful view from the second story of our back yard.

Mourning Dove

Visiting Mourning Dove
One of the many things we love about our new home, is the wild life in our back yard. Rabbits, squirrels, Humming Birds, Finches -- all very nice. This Mourning Dove walked back and forth on our deck's railing.

We Love this Room

Our Family Room @ 38

Not a Dream Home, but a home where we're building memories and dreaming.

Our new house in Caledonia, Ontario. We hope to live here for a good, long while.
