There Be Pirates!

Micah & Elizabeth had a sleep over last night at our place, and that meant we had a chance to see their inventiveness. Suddenly, they appeared threatening me with extinction. I took the picture and there you have it, matey.

Elizabeth wore a fancy head-dress thing, shown here in side-view. Micah wore half that ball his Dad tore into two some time back. But of particular note, is Micah's weapon of his own construction--it's some sort of two stage, adjustable, unstoppable weapon of choice. Of course, only love comes out of the barrel!

And, as I mentioned in the comments, Elizabeth doesn't need any fixing--she's beautiful just as she is; it's the photo that needs help and that's only a reflection on the photographer.

Going in Style

The other day I heard someone ask why some outhouses of old had two, ah, holes. The first answer I heard was "a male and female side". A practical answer was that in the winter time when one side "filled up" you would start on the other side. My dad's answer was the best, I thought. He said, "companionship". In a previous time people were not as crazy rushed as we are today, and a visit to the outhouse could and should take a good, leisurely while. You might read a magazine, a few chapters of the Bible, or just sit and think. How much nicer then if you could share that experience. The above photo exemplifies such sharing in the best possible light.

Last night, Dave Wickerham came to Kingston and played on Canada's Largest Theatre Pipe Organ (http://www.ktos.ca/index.html). It was an excellent concert. It was a fabulous Thanksgiving Day, with much to be thankful for with a grateful heart. We went for a walk somewhere in the Parrot Bay area, and Micah said he wanted to take a picture. Here's the result. Well done, Micah, excellent work!

A Good Site

Jean and I camped at several spots this Fall. This was the last one of the season -- Kayuta Lake Campground This site was huge and the far end of it overlooked the lake below.
